Guide

Export music videos for Instagram, TikTok & YouTube

A visual that looks perfect fullscreen on your laptop can fail on a phone feed: clipped titles, endless strobe, muddy audio, or a first second that doesn’t hook. This guide covers export craft for social — with COMMERD as the render path.

Platform realities (without chasing every pixel)

Specs change. What doesn’t: vertical and square crops punish edge-hugging UI, algorithms punish unreadable first frames, and loudness wars still clip. Design for the center safe area and a strong opening.

GoalTip
Stories / Reels / TikTokKeep titles inward; test vertical framing
YouTubeLonger cuts OK; still lead with a clear hook
Looping clipsEnd state should reconnect visually if possible

On-screen credits that survive compression

Thin type dies on mobile encodes. Prefer larger titles, high contrast, and fewer simultaneous lines. During builds, calm motion behind text so names stay legible.

Audio and rights

Exporting a video with sound doesn’t grant you the right to publish the music. Use tracks you own, licensed stems, or cleared demos. Platform Content ID can mute or block uploads regardless of your visual craft.

COMMERD export flow

  1. Drop a file (tab listen is great for preview; export wants an uploaded track)
  2. Lock mode, palette, credits, optional background
  3. Mark arrangement if the drop needs a different intensity
  4. Download when preview feels locked — keep the tab open while it renders

Open the visualizer and run a short export test.

FAQ

Can I export while listening to a tab?

Live tab capture is for preview. For a reliable download with sound, use an uploaded audio file in COMMERD.

MP4 or WebM?

COMMERD prefers MP4 when the browser supports it and falls back to WebM. Both carry audio when capture succeeds.

Why did my social upload mute the audio?

Often Content ID / rights — not the visualizer. Confirm you can distribute the track on that platform.
